Ferry to Lofoten Islands

Today I left the Polar Circle hotel for a two hour journey to Bodø, to catch the ferry to Moskenes on the Lofoten Islands (in the Norwegian sea), then onward for another two hours to my overnight stop..
The Lofoten Islands are renowned for dramatic mountains, many bays and sandy beaches (although you'd be a brave person to go swimming). The islands are a massive tourist trap and this is the first place I've been that is really busy. Apparently July is regarded as peak holiday season.
Joining the queue for the ferry I spied the first couple of British motorbikes I've seen. The first chap I spoke to was British and he is taking a year off to ride from the North Cape (Norway) all the way down to the bottom of South Africa! Apparently he's previously been around the world. The other chap with him was an American, they met on a previous trip and he's doing the first part of this trip on a British registered bike.
On the ferry some of us bikers sat together and had a nice long chat on the three hour crossing. As well as British and American there was a Norwegian on his own, also three younger guys from Hanover in Germany.
I commented about my Garmin sat nav losing the plot and one of the German guys said his also did the same! So, as you cross above the Arctic Circle it seems to get confused about day/night and switches to permanent dark mode, even though currently it's 24 hour daylight. A forced cold reboot seems to restore normality.
