A very hard day of motorway riding, up at 05:30 (UK time) and ferry arrived at 08:00 CET), 30 minutes to get through large queue for passport control, then a full day riding across the Netherlands, across Germany and up to the German/Danish border, ~420 miles.
Very warm 25 C so a bit sticky in the traffic jams, especially around Hamburg. An amusing moment was following some other bikers lane splitting in the traffic jam and we came up behind two police vans in lane two and three, the biker in front thought better of passing between them, but when they staggered a bit he went past them both so I followed suit.
I tended to stop every hour and a bit, mainly to clean all the dead insects off the visor.
I'm very glad I recently got a throttle lock (as my bike unfortunately doesn't have cruise control), to give the right hand (throttle) a rest at times. I'm slowly getting the hang of the technique needed to apply it (initially practising only in very light traffic)
The picture shows the bike strapped down on the ferry. Unusually you are left to strap it down yourself.

Jeremy, it didn't take long, plastered in muck already, see the Lysebotn post.
I don't think it will stay that clean for very long !
