Suomi - Finland

Today was 200 miles south into the top of Finland (Suomi), but still above the Arctic Circle..

The day can be summarised with one word "forests", 200 miles of them, with associated flies every time you stopped. The weather was 10C overcast with light drizzle,

The villages were much more sparse today, I rode 130 km (80 miles) without seeing a single shop or garage. After this, whenever I come across a garage I've been topping up the tank.

The sat nav arrival time didn't seem to match the journey duration, until I realised that Finland is +1 hour of Norway.

The border crossing was deserted, the trucks have to stop as going from Norway (associated with EU) to Finland (EU) they have to declare goods.

The roads were bumpy in places, so keeping the speed down at times.

In Norway they have these two blue and white poles on both sides on the road. It turns out that these are for winter, to show where skido should stop and cross the main roads.
